Perioperative hypertension is common and requires individualised management.

  • C
    • Perioperative hypertensive emergency
      Defined as acute ↑ ⩾20% from baseline.
    • For elective surgery; aim SBP ⩽180mmHg and DBP ⩽110mmHg
      No evidence that controlling BP below this lowers perioperative risk.
